Cowell College Tile Program

The mission of Cowell College is to provide a forum where students can think deeply about questions of justice (in our core course) come to understand better their own role in a worldwide community, and experience firsthand the transformative power of open intellectual inquiry.

The Pursuit of Truth in the Company of Friends

Tile Program funding helps:

  • To sustain and enrich a multifaceted, internationally oriented, intellectual environment for Cowell students and faculty;
  • To bring innovative voices and special courses to the Cowell community, especially by developing the Cowell College Visiting and Resident Scholars program; and
  • To make Cowell College the incubator of new, interdisciplinary programs, featuring course offerings, lectures, and other intellectual encounters not currently supported by regular UCSC departments.
