Tile Program

Each college uses funding from the tile program to support its own priorities. Choose the college of your choice below for details about how funding is used, and for a list of donors who have already shown their support for these goals.

College Tiles Support the UCSC College Experience!

UC Santa Cruz offers an undergraduate experience where living and learning are fostered by a commitment to interdisciplinary studies, a faculty dedicated to teaching, and the supportive communities of its ten residential colleges. You can make your mark on this distinctive undergraduate educational experience by supporting the Colleges Tiles program.

Purchase a personalized tile through the Alumni Colleges Fund. A donor wall will be permanently and visibly displayed at each college, providing a reminder to students and faculty of the wonderful support from donors who care about the undergraduate experience.

Support from tile purchases provides income to augment limited public funding. This enables college provosts to support, initiate, and expand programs that enrich the UC Santa Cruz college experience, including:

College Nights; a regular and lively program of events, performances, speakers, and gatherings for the college community;
Academic opportunities, including special courses and seminars with visiting faculty;
Internship programs and community service opportunities;
Scholarships and awards for academic achievement;
Opportunities for undergraduate research with individual faculty or through one of UC Santa Cruz’s interdisciplinary research centers; and
Colloquia on issues pertinent to the college’s thematic focus.
